PAGE 22 (4 panels)
Panel 1:
Inside the Rhizome's airlock again. The hatch is open and M.P. SKULKER climbs out of it. VENETIA and SIO are all visible out of the water behind him. UMUASUQ and some DETRITIMPS are on the upper deck. SKULKER is the first out of the hatch. His gun is missing from the holster.
M.P. SKULKER:
*cough* *ack*
M.P. SKULKER:
Shore leave's over! Rev the engines. Prepare for immediate retreat.
M.P. SKULKER:
I went and made us enemies again.
Panel 2:
SIO is above the hatch, sort of helping VENETIA climb out. She is gently examining VENETIA'S neck as she does this. One of VENETIA'S hands is still in the water, hidden from view. The tattoo is still on her neck. PNIAKI and OKEE are now visible in the water.
SIO:
Captain… you were right… the grapheme worked.
SIO:
She's immutable like the other artifacts!
Panel 3:
VENETIA looks at her reflection in the pooled water at the edge of the hatch. She sees the tattoo for the first time and is angry and shocked. SKULKER is visible in the reflection, standing above her. SKULKER's gun is in one of her hands, now visible to him from abover her.
VENETIA:
You branded me?!?!
M.P. SKULKER:
It's just an osmosis hex. Rapid water transport.
M.P. SKULKER:
Wait… how did you get my…
Panel 4:
VENETIA spins and pistol-whips SKULKER, knocking him backward.
FX:
KRAK!
Panel 5:
Large panel. This shot should echo Page 10, where SKULKER originally shot VENETIA. Now VENETIA stands over SKULKER, pistol pointed at his head as he struggles to stand from her first attack. OKEE is just climbing out of the hatch behind this scene, shocked at VENETIA'S action. SIO stands in the background, also surprised. If we can squeeze in the other crew on the upper deck, also show their dismay at their captain's injury and situation.
VENETIA:
Why don't we discuss those employment propositions now?
